  EDWARD MOTTOLA JR. PRESIDENT OF THE  GRAND  LODGE OF FLORIDA, ORDER SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA, ANNOUNCED THE SONS OF ITALY WILL BE MAKING A DONATION  TO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER MUSEUM AND MEMORIAL.  IN 2008 A PLEDGE OF $100,000.00 WAS MADE TO THIS MOST WORTHY CAUSE.   AN INITIAL PAYMENT OF $50,000.00 WAS MADE THAT YEAR, AND AN ADDITIONAL $25,000.00 WAS MADE IN SEPTEMBER 2009. THE FINAL $25,000.00 WILL BE RAISED DURING 2010 AND THE FINAL PAYMENT TO COMPLETE THE PLEDGE WILL BE MADE ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2011.

EDWARD  MOTTOLA  JR.   STATE  PRESIDENT, GRAND LODGE  OF FLORIDA,  ORDER  SONS  OF ITALY  IN    AMERICA, ANNOUNCED THE GOVERNMENT OF ITALY HAS PLEDGED  $500,000.00 ANNUALLY IN SUPPORT OF MAINTAINING THE ADVANVED PLACEMENT PROGRAM IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS. THE SONS OF ITALY AND LEADING ITALIAN AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS WILL JOIN IN SUPPORT  OF THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM.

THE DECISION CONFIRMS THE PRIORITY ASSIGNED BY  THE GOVERNMENT OF ITALY TO THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE BOARD, WHICH HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS INDISPENSABLE TO THE DIFFUSION OF APPROPRIATE LEVEL ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSES IN UNITED STATES SCHOOLS.

 THE ORDER SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA HAS PLEDGED TO RAISE BETWEEN $75,000.00 AND $150,000.00 EACH YEAR FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS  FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE AP PROGRAM.

AT OUR APRIL QUARTERLY MEETINGS IN TAMPA,  THE GRAND LODGE OF FLORIDA STATE COUNCIL VOTED ON AND APPROVED THAT ALL LODGES CAN OBTAIN A CASE OR CASES OF OUR BOOK,  “FROM THE SAME VINE” AT NO COST OTHER THAN PAYING THE SHIPPING FEE.  THE LODGE RECEIVING THE BOOKS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING PAYMENT TO: THE GRAND LODGE OF FLORIDA, c/o EVA MOTTOLA, 18281 FRESH LAKE WAY, BOCA RATON, FL 33498… IN THE AMOUNT OF $60.00 AFTER EACH CASE IS SOLD.  SHIPPING FEES WILL BE PAID UPON RECEIPT OF THE BOOKS. 

THIS SITUATION CAME ABOUT DUE TO THE FACT WE HAVE FEW REMAINING CASES OF “FROM THE SAME VINE” IN STOREAGE AND IT WOULD BE TO OUR ADVANTAGE TO DISPOSE OF ALL INVENTORY.  AS OF  APRIL 22, 2010,  SIXTEEN (16)  LODGES HAVE  ORDERED 28 CASES.
